On October 22, 2024, the Tourism Business Program (UPW) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Riau, held a Workshop on the Finalization of the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK) for the D4 Tourism Business Program (UPW), in conjunction with the signing of collaboration agreements with three partners: 3M Tour and Travel, Family Galaxy Holiday, and The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru. The event took place at Tjokro Hotel Pekanbaru.

The event was attended by the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., the President Director of Family Galaxy Holiday, Hemy Kusnady Kho, the President Director of 3M Tour & Travel, Muhammad Dicky Maulana, the General Manager of The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru, Wismiati, the Secretary of the Department of Administrative Sciences, Andri Sulistyani, S.S., M.Sc., the Coordinator of the UPW Program, Dr. Mariaty Ibrahim, S.Sos., M.Si., as well as all faculty members of the UPW Program.

Dean of FISIP, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all partners for their support in education. The MBKM curriculum and the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) require study programs to consider job opportunities for graduates after completing their studies. Therefore, partners play an important role as a platform for students to broaden their knowledge during internships or On the Job Training.

Dr. Mariaty Ibrahim, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the event not only included the signing of collaboration agreements but also a review of the finalization of the ISK document, which would take place over the next two days to support the target of achieving excellent accreditation for the Tourism Business Program.

The scope of the collaboration specifically includes a 20-credit MBKM internship at partner institutions. Internships are one of the best ways for students to gain experience in the workforce. Through internships, students can engage in real work activities and participate in more specific and technical projects. Therefore, collaboration with relevant partners is essential for student development.

It is hoped that this collaboration will provide significant benefits for the UPW Program and FISIP students at Universitas Riau. The insights and experiences gained through internships can serve as valuable assets in future job competition. Additionally, building partnerships with industry partners can enrich social networks and provide practical learning about workplace culture. It is hoped that FISIP Universitas Riau will continue to strengthen its collaborations with partners for the advancement of its study programs and to contribute positively to society and the tourism industry.
