Pekanbaru, September 29, 2024 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Riau (UNRI) successfully held the Socialization of the 2024 FISIP Academic Championship at the Sutan Balia Auditorium, FISIP UNRI. This event focused on three prestigious national competitions: the Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI), National University Debating Championship (NUDC), and the Selection of Outstanding Students (PILMAPRES).
The event was hosted by Farras Anggoro & Rima Dwi Putri as Masters of Ceremony. It was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Saiman, S.I.P., M.Si. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of this event as a platform for students to express their critical thoughts through productive activities.
"With this FISIP Academic Championship Socialization, FISIP ensures that its students have the space and opportunity to express and articulate their aggressive ideas through productive activities, advancing FISIP UNRI’s name in prestigious competitions like KDMI, NUDC, and PILMAPRES," said Dr. Saiman, S.I.P., M.Si.
The event featured three inspiring speakers who have achieved excellence at both university and national levels:
Melsandy Saputri, 5th Best Speaker at the 2024 KDMI Universitas Riau
Ahmad Zainur, 2024 NUDC Champion at Universitas Riau
Ghefira Auliya Rabbani Anedin, 1st Outstanding Student of LLDIKTI Region XVII 2024
The speakers shared their experiences, tips, and tricks for preparing for these competitions. Participants showed great enthusiasm by actively engaging in discussions and asking questions throughout the presentations.
Jetro Simanjuntak, Acting Governor of FISIP UNRI Student Government 2024, also expressed his hope that the event would motivate FISIP students to participate in these prestigious competitions.
The event concluded with a group photo and the presentation of plaques to the speakers as a token of appreciation for sharing their knowledge and experiences.
Participants provided positive feedback, stating that the event gave them the space and platform to grow, particularly in preparing for prestigious competitions like KDMI, NUDC, and PILMAPRES.
As a follow-up, participants are encouraged to prepare for the selection process for KDMI, NUDC, and PILMAPRES at the Department, Faculty, University, and National levels.
FISIP UNRI hopes that through this event, FISIP students will be motivated to represent FISIP UNRI in these prestigious competitions, enhancing the faculty's reputation at both the university and national levels.
