Pekanbaru, October 11, 2024 – The Public Administration Undergraduate Program of FISIP Universitas Riau held a Curriculum Reconstruction meeting on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 08:30 to 11:00 WIB, in the Public Administration Program Meeting Room, Building E, FISIP Universitas Riau. The meeting was attended by Professors and all lecturers of the Public Administration Program.
The meeting was led by the Head of the Public Administration Undergraduate Program, Dr. Dadang Mashur, S.Sos., M.Si, with the main agenda to discuss the latest curriculum design in line with the curriculum mandated by the Public Administration scholarly association. The goal is to address the challenges of changes and the workforce needs of businesses and industries.
This curriculum reconstruction is expected to improve the quality of education and its relevance to current conditions. The new curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to face challenges in the public sector.
Dr. Dadang Mashur, S.Sos., M.Si explained, “This curriculum reconstruction is a strategic step to ensure that our graduates not only possess theoretical knowledge but also practical skills relevant to the current dynamics of government and public services.”
The development of soft skills is the primary focus of this new curriculum. "We strive to produce graduates who are adaptive, innovative, and capable of providing solutions amid the complexities of issues faced by society," added Dr. Dadang.
The Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, in a separate statement, said, "The curriculum is the main foundation in producing competent, competitive, and relevant graduates to meet the demands of the time. Therefore, it is important for us to continuously evaluate and reconstruct the existing curriculum to keep it up-to-date with the development of knowledge, technology, as well as the dynamics of the job market and society."
The curriculum reconstruction also involves input from various parties, including alumni, practitioners, and stakeholders in the public sector. This demonstrates the commitment of the Public Administration Undergraduate Program to continuously adapt to the times.
With the launch of this updated curriculum, the Public Administration Program is expected to produce future leaders who are ready to face challenges and contribute positively to society. -INDRY-RIRY-
