Pekanbaru, October 30, 2024 – The Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPMP) of Universitas Riau successfully held a Workshop on Study Program Assistance for International Accreditation Preparation at The Zuri Hotel, taking place on October 30-31, 2024. This event was attended by the Head of the Public Administration Program, Dr. Dadang Mashur, S.Sos, M.Si, along with the Accreditation Team of the Public Administration Program.
Dr. Belli Nasution, S.IP, M.A, Head of LPPMP Universitas Riau, officially opened the event by delivering a speech emphasizing the importance of international accreditation in enhancing the quality of education at the university. Dr. Belli expressed hope that this workshop would provide participants with a deep understanding of the accreditation process and the steps needed to prepare study programs for international accreditation.
The Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., in a separate statement, remarked that international accreditation is not merely an administrative achievement but an effort to improve the quality of education, graduate quality, and the university's competitiveness. "By focusing on international standards, we are committed to meeting global expectations so that our graduates can compete and make meaningful contributions in the workforce," said Dr. Meyzi.
Dr. Dadang Mashur, S.Sos. M.Si., Head of the Public Administration Program, stated that international accreditation is both a challenge and an opportunity for us in the Public Administration Program. "Through active participation in this workshop, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of education standards and serving students to the best of our abilities, in line with global expectations," said Dr. Dadang.
The workshop featured Dr. Widowati Budijastuti, M.Si, Head of Quality Assurance (BPM) of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), and Bertha Yonata, S.Pd, M.Pd., Head of the Accreditation Center at UNESA, as speakers. They delivered material on international accreditation standards and strategies for their implementation in study programs.
Workshop participants enthusiastically engaged in interactive discussions and Q&A sessions, where they gained valuable insights into the various challenges and solutions in the accreditation process.
It is hoped that each study program at Universitas Riau can improve the quality of its education and services, preparing to meet international accreditation standards, which are expected to enhance the university's reputation and competitiveness on a global level. This event served not only as a learning opportunity but also strengthened collaboration between study programs in pursuing shared goals in education quality enhancement.
