The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI) signed a collaboration and benchmarking agreement on quality assurance systems with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Sriwijaya (Unsri) at the FISIP Unsri Bukit Besar Campus in Palembang on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The Dean of FISIP Universitas Sriwijaya, Prof. Alfitri, expressed his hope that the collaboration would foster the sharing of strengths and enhance achievements at the national level.

In the meeting, the delegation from FISIP Universitas Riau, led by Dean Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si, along with Vice Dean 3 for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si, Faculty Quality Assurance Secretary (SPMF) of FISIP Unri Evawani Elysa Lubis, M.Si, and the Chair of the FISIP Unri Women’s Association, Delianty Meyzi, were welcomed by FISIP Unsri Dean Prof. Alfitri, accompanied by Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs Azhar, department heads, department secretaries, and representatives from the Educational Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LP3MP) of FISIP Unsri.

Following the signing of the agreement, benchmarking and sharing activities took place regarding quality assurance and collaborative efforts between both parties. Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, stated that this type of collaboration could continue to enhance the quality of each university. Meanwhile, Prof. Alfitri, Dean of FISIP Unsri, hopes that this partnership will open opportunities for faculty and student exchanges and develop various collaborative programs in the future.

Furthermore, Prof. Alfitri invited Universitas Riau to participate in the International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities (ICOSSH VII) 2024, which will be held on November 14, 2024. The collaboration between FISIP Unri and FISIP Unsri is expected to bring positive benefits to both parties in improving the quality of education and research in social and political sciences. Through the exchange of experiences and knowledge between these two institutions, it is hoped that this partnership will significantly contribute to the development of knowledge and understanding in the field.
