On October 9, 2024, at 1:30 PM in the Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Dean’s Office, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau held a meeting on the development of learning monitoring and evaluation (Monev) instruments. The meeting was attended by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., MA, the Head of the Faculty's Quality Assurance Unit (SPMF), Dr. Hasanuddin, M.Si, the Secretary of SPMF, Evawani Elysa Lubis, M.Si, along with the entire SPMF team and the Quality Assurance Unit (GPM) teams from each department/study program.

During the meeting, Vice Dean I, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., MA, stated that the report from the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) Assessors indicated that an evaluation of the learning Monev instruments was necessary. The importance of Monev instrument evaluation in every learning process has become a serious concern for FISIP Universitas Riau.

The Head of SPMF, Dr. Hasanuddin, M.Si, added that learning Monev activities have been carried out over the past two years. However, further development in the technical aspects of Monev evaluation is needed. Therefore, it is necessary to revise or evaluate the existing learning monitoring and evaluation instruments.

One of the members of the GPM teams from the departments/study programs also emphasized the importance of evaluating these instruments. Learning evaluation is a crucial point in the internal quality audit that must be implemented and documented. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation from Vice Dean I that learning monitoring and evaluation need to be expedited and continuously conducted, involving all available elements. This activity must become part of the effort to improve the quality of education at FISIP Universitas Riau, ensuring more accurate, curriculum-standard, and credible learning outcomes, ultimately guaranteeing better quality at FISIP. -Enggy-EEL-
