On September 2 2024, the Community Service Service of the Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Riau University carried out a blood donation activity in collaboration with PMI Pekanbaru City at the FISIP Dean's Yard, Riau University. This activity aims to introduce blood donation activities to the entire academic community and FISIP students at Riau University and to help meet the blood needs of patients in need. This activity was carried out with the theme "A Drop of Blood, a Million Hopes: Sharing Kindness Saves Lives."

The Community Service Service of BEM FISIP Riau University has great determination to support humanitarian activities at FISIP Riau University. Therefore, this activity should be appreciated and supported by all parties. Blood donation is a form of concern and kindness towards human health and safety. This activity requires participation and support from the entire community in order to provide an adequate blood supply for those in need.

Dean of FISIP, Riau University, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si and Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si also assisted in this activity which was carried out by implementing very strict health protocols and operational standards to ensure that all donors and the medical team were safe and healthy.

Community Service Service BEM FISIP Riau University and PMI Pekanbaru City to ensure the target of a significant number of donors is achieved. The FISIP academic community at Riau University responded positively to this blood donation activity. And indeed it was found that some donors were trying the experience of donating blood for the first time. This shows that blood donation activities need to be carried out regularly to increase awareness and concern regarding the importance of blood donation for the health and safety of others.

It is hoped that from this routine blood donation activity, the FISIP academic community can increase awareness about the importance of blood donation. This activity is in line with the hopes of PMI and the Pekanbaru City government in consistently increasing the number of blood donors.
