Pekanbaru, 2 September 2024 – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) University of Riau held a disbandment event for the 2024 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) committee. The event which took place at the FISIP Wood Hall was in conjunction with the FISIP Green Society Socialization.
In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP, Riau University, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos, M.Si expressed his appreciation to the entire PKKMB 2024 committee who have worked hard to make this event a success. Apart from closing the PKKMB, this event is also the right moment to socialize the FISIP Green Society. This program aims to increase awareness of the FISIP academic community regarding the importance of protecting the environment. Through this outreach, it is hoped that all FISIP components can contribute actively in realizing a sustainable green campus.
Dr. Meyzi also explained the meaning of the acronym FISIP SOCIETY which is an encouragement for the FISIP academic community. "FISIP SOCIETY is an acronym that describes the character of the graduates we hope for. Solutive means students must be able to provide solutions to various social problems. Objective means students must be objective in assessing a problem. Smart means students must have high intellectual and emotional intelligence. Inclusive means Students must be able to interact with various groups. Entrepreneurship means students must have an entrepreneurial spirit. Resilience means students must have a strong mentality.
The PKKMB closing event and FISIP Green Society Socialization was attended by WD 3 for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si as Chief Executive of PKKMB FISIP 2024, WD 1 Academic Affairs Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., WD 2 General Affairs and Finance Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Sc., TU Coordinator and Sub-coordinator throughout the FISIP Environment, Chair of the FISIP Green Society Robi Armilus, S.Sos., M.Sc., the entire PKKMB committee, Governor of BEM FISIP, Chair of BLM FISIP, Student Affairs Institutions throughout FISIP, this activity took place smoothly and full of enthusiasm, guided well by the MC. Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Sc.
The event was punctuated by giving rewards to the Best PKKMB 2024 committee which was achieved by the General, Equipment and Cleanliness Sector in first place, the Events Sector (Korlap) in 2nd place and the Consumption Sector in 3rd place. This is an appreciation from the FISIP leadership for the performance of the 2024 PKKMB Committee from the past. preparations until the end of the PKKMB.
