Pekanbaru - Thursday, October 31, 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau hosted a basic K3L training at the FISIP Main Hall from 09:00 to 11:30 WIB.
Present at the event were Acting Dean of FISIP Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., Vice Dean of General Affairs and Finance Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., Administrative Coordinator Susi Heptariani Z, S.E.Ak., M.Ak., Sub-Coordinator of General and Academic Facilities Rudiman, S.Sos., Head of PPID FISIP Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si., and educators and administrative staff from FISIP Universitas Riau.
Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., as Acting Dean of FISIP, emphasized the importance of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) on campus. He stated that efforts to maintain the safety and health of workers and the environment should not be overlooked to create a safe and healthy work environment. Thus, this training is expected to increase understanding and awareness among all parties of the significance of K3L in daily activities.
In a separate statement, the Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., highlighted that Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) are essential foundations for creating a productive and safe work environment. “FISIP is committed to continuously supporting the implementation of K3L to ensure the health and safety of all academic community members and to enhance the quality of our work environment,” he said. Dr. Meyzi hopes that this training can help build a solid K3L culture within FISIP.
Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Dean of General Affairs and Finance, also expressed appreciation for the K3L Cluster's initiative in organizing this training. She stated that this is an excellent step to raise awareness among all staff and lecturers about applying K3L principles. “This training is our effort to prioritize safety and health, supporting better performance in the campus environment,” Dr. Mayarni said.
The event’s speaker, Indra Mardeni Putra, S.AP., M.AP., who has experience in Occupational Health and Safety, provided informative and relevant material for the participants. The topics covered various essential aspects of K3L, from risk identification to preventive actions to reduce potential workplace hazards.
The knowledge gained from this training session is expected to serve as a valuable foundation for all participants in ensuring the safety and health of themselves and their colleagues in the campus or workplace environment.
A Q&A discussion session and hands-on practice using fire extinguishers (APAR) further enriched participants' understanding of the importance of K3L.
