Pekanbaru, 20 August 2024 - The Student Legislative Body (BLM) of the University of Riau initiated a hearing with the leadership of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the University of Riau, which was attended by the Dean of FISIP Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Sc., Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si., Chief Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si., Administrative Coordinator, Environmental Sub-Coordinator, FISIP, University of Riau.
The Chair of BLM, Pauzi Heriyadi, stated that this activity was an effort by BLM to bridge the aspirations of students and the faculty, especially in answering academic, student affairs and facility issues and providing solutions to the problems being faced by students. Especially related to student achievement and development at FISIP, Riau University.
In his speech, the Dean of FISIP, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Sc. expressed his great appreciation for hearing activities like this. "We as leaders must be ready to hear and accommodate the aspirations of every group, including students through BLM," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si. thank you for this initiation. "We from the general and finance department really need information like this, so that we can include it in the planning for the development of FISIP, University of Riau," he added. Apart from that, the information obtained will also be used as evaluation material to measure the extent to which the faculty policies that have been implemented are working well.
Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si, Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs added that BLM is the highest institution in student organizations. "Therefore, we hope that BLM will continue to hold public hearings every month," he said.
It is hoped that by holding this activity, the relationship between students and the faculty will become better. Various aspirations and input can be accommodated well for mutual progress. During the activity, the BLM administrators seemed enthusiastic in providing input and questions to improve the quality of academics and student affairs at FISIP, University of Riau. Activities like this are very important so that students in particular and the academic community in general can channel their aspirations and be actively involved in improving the quality of education in higher education.
