The places where people live are called the human habitat, and this includes the environment where they carry out their activities. Since one of the basic human needs is shelter and humans are gregarious in nature they either live in small families in rural areas, in a village or a larger town or city. They create different sizes of settlements that depict traditional dwellings, or habitats in transition or modern settlements. In other words, human habitat may be judged even through cave dwellings, simple traditional housing to the modern settlements of the world’s Super Cities. Whatever its size, the fact is that people live together and are always in the quest of fulfilling their basic needs for food, water, shelter, etc. Human beings make their own environment adapted to their needs and control the environment. Human habitat is also closely linked to human comfort, safety and health. However, is there a guarantee that human security and quality of life is not threatened considering that presently we are being affected by climate change situation that might inflict on our basic needs for survival.
